Basketball will conclude next Wed., 2/3/10 with a written test (2/4 for Mrs. Beseth's class). 5th grade students also have a shooting test for skills.
Our next unit will be dance - all kinds. We do folk, square, line, party. It's so much fun!
Remember, stay active, stay healthy.

Week ending 1/22/10
We've been playing basketball lead up games all week. Students are having a lot of fun, and their skill level is constantly improving. It's great to see their progress.
Basketball again next week. 5th graders are skill tested on their shooting, and have been given time daily to practice.
Stay healthy, stay active.

Week ending 1/15/10
Roller skating has come to an end. Students have really improved and are more than confident skating around the gym. Again, many thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time to come into the gym and help students tie their skates. We even had a number of parents who skated with their child. Mrs. Cavoto and Mrs. Strong also skated with their class. The students just loved that!
Next week we're on to basketball. It'll be a welcome change of events.
Stay active, stay healthy.

Week ending 1/8/10
It seems odd to be putting 2010 when I need to add a date. The time sure does go by so very quickly.
Back at school we're roller skating in the gym. The first day is always difficult as new routines and skills need to be honed. Now that it's the end of the week, wow! You wouldn't believe how smoothly things are running and what a huge improvement the 3rd graders have shown. Many thanks to all the parents who graciously volunteer their time to come into the gym and help students tie skates. The snow wasn't even a deterrent.
More skating next week.
Stay active (play in the snow, shovel, etc.). Stay healthy.
